The Gaza Disengagement
Late August 2005:
The Gaza Disengagement dominated news from Israel-Palestine for months before the pullout in August and a large amount of material was generated. The pullout was accomplished with far less trauma than anticipated and many commenators were cynical about the whole theartical farce. While its wider significance is disputed, there does not seem room for anything but the most cautious and restrained optimism about any serious disengagement from the West Bank following on from it.Here are some of the more interesting articles to appear in the period around the disengagement proper in July-August.
